Machina Non Verus —
Currently, my body of work involves dealing with a set of rules stemming from a manifesto I constructed entitled, "Machina Non Verus" or loosly translated from Latin, "Machines of the Not Actual." Essentially the entire "Machina" universe is based on the idea that certain objects in my prints and paintings are sentient: they are aware of their surroundings within the work of art.
To gain a sense of what exactly my work is about, check out the various selections in the Reading Room. The entire Machina Non Verus universe falls under two distinct categories: art for the educated artist audience and art for asthetic enjoyment. As my father so pleasantly puts it, "I don't understand what you do, but I enjoy it." Other artists often think I'm a pompous jerk who's full of herself. Either way, the view will find something to enjoy/hate.
Enter the Gallery: Four selections per year are available to look at from 2002-2004. (Currently gallery updates are on hold as most of my art is in storage.
