Sweet deal!

They’re making Flatland into a movie! Flatland is one of my favorite books; after reading it I branched into how much of my more abstract and conceptual work revolves around the idea of a sentient second dimension. And now it’s a movie!

I can’t determine if Ian Stewart has anything to do with making it, but that would be SO COOL. I discovered Flatland and Ian Stewart on separate occasions, and remember the nerd-fit I had when I found out he wrote Flatterland.

The trailer looks good, I hope that the DVD is unlike other educational DVDs and is actually affordable. (Case in point, Why Man Creates is a hideous $125.00.)

   A “sentient second dimension”? Is that kinda like those cartoons with the talking pencils that draw? Or that book about the kid with the purple crayon? I feel like I’ve accidentally waded into the deep end of the “Artists Only” pool…Dammit, I knew I should’ve worn those yellow floaties!
