Flat Film!

January 21st, 20071 Commentsgeometry, media

Sweet deal!

They’re making Flatland into a movie! Flatland is one of my favorite books; after reading it I branched into how much of my more abstract and conceptual work revolves around the idea of a sentient second dimension. And now it’s a movie!

I can’t determine if Ian Stewart has anything to do with making it, but that would be SO COOL. I discovered Flatland and Ian Stewart on separate occasions, and remember the nerd-fit I had when I found out he wrote Flatterland.

The trailer looks good, I hope that the DVD is unlike other educational DVDs and is actually affordable. (Case in point, Why Man Creates is a hideous $125.00.)

Copperhate!

Alright, alright!

My friend Nicole and I finally got off of our rear-ends and started uploading photos to our new joint blog, I Hate Copperplate!

Nicole shares my dislike for the overuse that Copperplate, a decent enough typeface, has suffered. Admittedly, we started taking photos for the blog back in September, so there has been a massive photo dump to clear the way for pictures with actual commentary. Nevertheless! It has begun. An official place to document over-usage. No doubt you will see all-time hated typefaces like: Curlz, Brush Script, Papyrus and even Comic-Sans!

Stealing is good

Sweet deal.

I do posters and whatnot for North By Northwest, a brewpub in Austin, Texas. I was informed that my most recent poster/tabletent has received many positive comments from customers, and keeps disappearing from the tents on the dining tables. That makes my head feel just a bit bigger, I have to say.

Cutsey Kitsch, Go!

Oh, I’ve been ever-so busy and having fun with polymer clay!

So much fun, in fact, that I’m gonna announce the opening of my new Etsy store, Stuff for Sale! As of now, there are mostly polymer clay items, but in the future there shall be t-shirts, drawings, prints and hopefully some other types of papercraft!

I’m excited!
